TOMYRIS ARMCHAIR Pietro Franceschini
Ø 79 x H43/75 cm
Tomyris was an ancient ruler of the Massagetae, a confederation in Central Asia, located in the area to the east of the Caspian Sea, in parts of modern-day Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. In Greek Mythology, Tomyris is most known for her role in the defense against an attack by Cyrus the Great of the Achamenind Empire. Designer Pietro Franceschini drew from the tale to visualise the Tomyris armchair.
