SIAMESE SOFA Pietro Franceschini
138 x 82 x H43/63 cm
In Greek Mythology the Molionidae were a pair of siamese-twins named Cteatus and Eurytus. They were hatched from a silver egg after their mother Molione, wife of Aktor - prince of the Eleian town of Buprasium, was seduced by the god Poseidon in the guise of a bird. Designer Pietro Franceschini drew from the tale to visualise the Siamese sofa. Siamese if part of PF I Studio’s Olympus collection.
Pietro Franceschini is an architect and designer based in New York and Florence. His latest project PF|Studio was born in 2020 as an interior and furniture design practice. Franceschini’s collections are minimalistic, sophisticated and raw at the same time. Working across mediums for his inspired imaginings, it is clear that visualisation and narrative are important to his practice.
