METROPOLIS COFFEE TABLE Laurids Gallée
Small - Ø 110 x H45 cm
Large - Ø 120 x H35 cm
The name Metropolis is derived from Fritz Lang’s 1927 science-fiction film, where a highly stylised futuristic city is presented as a cultural utopia above a grim underworld.
Taking from this scape the aim became to engineer a material and create a collection that reflects the rhythm of modern architectural construction, something created out of many individual building blocks, like bricks or tiles. The transparent quality highlights the interior anatomy, casting a different pattern from every angle that results in a prismatic effect.
Material: Resin Finishes: Frosted Colour, translucency, finish and dimensions are all customisable upon request.
Handmade in the Netherlands.
