Design with heritage.

Seeing Colombia in its beauty - in keeping with this vision, Ames is developing a unique collection of furniture and home decor manufactured in Colombia. Founded in 2006 by Ana María Calderón Kayser and her husband Karl-Heinz Kayser, the company predominantly uses the country’s traditional natural materials and craft techniques for their collection.

German designer Sebastian Herkner is a long-term collaborator of Ames and has visited Colombia multiple times. He not only immersed himself in the culture and beauty of the country, but also met the local Ames artisans and learned about their traditional weaving techniques.

Inspired by Colombia’s Huila region, where the Tatacoa desert meets the Rio Magdalena, Sebastian Herkner's Caribe Chic outdoor collection features hand-made baskets, chairs and tables in earthy colours. With Caribe Chic, Ames also introduces marble top tables to the collection.
